'Didn't Take A Penny For The Film'
Rana's film Nene Raju Nene Mantri is readying for release on August 11. The film has been directed by Teja, who hasn't had a single hit in a long, long time. Still he managed to rope in Rana and the film has already created a buzz.
However, Rana maintains that he took up the offer for Jogendra's character rather than for director Teja. He says that no one would have touched Teja's film, but he took up the role just because of the challenge it presented to him.
"The character has many shades. I look thin for a bit and well-toned and muscled for a bit. Then, there are negative shades to my character. Given the variations, Jogendra becomes an interesting character," he says adding that he never charged a penny for his role.
The film is being presented by his father Suresh Babu and Rana laughs saying had he quoted a remuneration, he wouldn't get food at his house.
The character has shades and similarities to the personas of late NTR and MGR says Rana and confesses he is terribly excited about the character.
In all, Nene Raju Nene Mantri is making the right noise to attract the attention of the audience and industry at large.
